The Medicinal Chemistry Department at Microbiotix was formed in 2005 to coincide with the occupation of a new and
expanded laboratory facility at One Innovation Drive in Worcester.
We have installed a parallel
synthesis laboratory in which we use semi-automated protocols for the synthesis of focused libraries of compounds.
We perform both solution phase and solid phase parallel synthesis for the preparation of target compound libraries,
to speed the process of lead optimization and SAR development.
We routinely use reaction blocks
for performing reactions in parallel, a Quest 210 instrument for both solid and solution phase chemistries, a
GeneVac parallel evaporation unit for reaction work-up, sample transfers, etc., and a CombiFlash instrument
for automated chromatographic purifications.
